Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Milk Use any milk. Feel free to use Almond or Cashew Milk.
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 1 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. Vanilla
  • 8 slices Whole Wheat Bread Choose a thicker whole wheat bread.

For Coating

  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1.5 tsp. Cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat a griddle or cast iron pan to medium high heat. Mix the cinnamon and sugar together on a plate and set aside.
  • Mix together the eggs, milk, cinnamon and vanilla. When the pan is hot add about 1/2 tbsp of butter to it and allow it to melt.
  • Cut the bread into strips of 4. Dip them into the egg mixture and cook 3-4 minutes per side at medium heat.
  • As you remove each one from the pan immediately roll it in the cinnamon sugar mixture.

Freezing Instructions

  • Allow the french toast sticks to cool on a rack completely. Wrap them in parchment paper in packs of 4-6 and store in the freezer. When you're ready to heat put them in a toaster oven for 6-8 minutes at 400 degrees or until warmed through.
