Ingredients

  • 2 lb Chuck roast
  • 1 tbsp. Montreal Steak Seasoning
  • 1 Package Lipton Onion Soup Mix beefy variety if you can find it
  • 1 Package Low Sodium Gravy Mix
  • 3 cups water
  • 1.5 lbs russet potatoes
  • 1 lb. Carrots
  • 2 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • Parsley for garnish
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 275
  • Sprinkle Montreal Steak Seasoning over roast. Pan sear the roast on medium high heat until a crust forms
    2 lb Chuck roast, 1 tbsp. Montreal Steak Seasoning, 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • Mix together the onion soup, gravy, and water .
    1 Package Lipton Onion Soup Mix, 3 cups water, 1 Package Low Sodium Gravy Mix
  • Place the potatoes and carrots over the roast . Add salt and pepper .
    1.5 lbs russet potatoes, 1 lb. Carrots, 2 tsp. Salt, 1 tsp. pepper
  • Pour the gravy mix over the roast and put the lid to the dutch oven on.
  • 275 for 2.5 to 3 hours or until meat is shreddable and tender .
    Parsley for garnish

Slow Cooker

  • Pan Sear your roast for best results. You don't need to do this, but your results will be better.
  • Follow all other instructions, but cook on low 8-10 hours or high 4-6. Roast is done when it's fork tender.
