I think almost every kid goes through an “I only eat chicken nuggets” phase. I know I did and even today I enjoy chicken tenders for dinner or over a salad. You know I’m a grown up now so I gotta throw the salad in there. These Homemade Baked Chicken Nuggets were a brain storm I had when I really wanted to go out and get my favorite fast food, but opted to stay in. I’m so happy I did because now I get to share them with you!
Can I freeze homemade baked chicken nuggets?
I’m so glad you asked! You certainly can. You could easily make a big batch of these and freeze them. Simply prepare them as directed, don’t cook them, then line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lay the nuggets down in an even layer and freeze for about 2 hours. Take them off the parchment and store in a freezer bag for up to 4 months. When you’re ready to cook just add about 4-5 minutes to the cook time to be sure they are cooked through.
How to make gluten free chicken nuggets
You could easily make these gluten free by using gluten free breadcrumbs. So many brands have a gluten free option that this is super simple. Gluten free panko is pretty easy to find in most major grocery stores. I recommend panko because it gives a heftier crunch.
I really hope you make these Homemade Baked Chicken Nuggets. They make it really easy , affordable and you can feed your family something you feel good about.
