Easy Instant Fruity Oatmeal Cups

Easy instant  fruity oatmeal cups are one of those recipes that helps me avoid those sugar bomb oatmeal packets from the store.  There’s a lot of unaccounted for ingredients and sugar in there, and the fact is, I just want oatmeal.  I am so sad when the last one is gone for the week.  The ingredients are simple and very versatile.  Instead of dried fruit and extra sugar, what you get is fresh fruit, oats, and a touch of sweetness.

In addition to fruit, you could get packages of your favorite nut butters for squeezing on top or add your favorite nuts.

Meal prep is life prep.  These oatmeal cups are just a small example of how healthy eating doesn’t just “happen.”  It’s all about being prepared.  You must be prepared for the busy morning when you can’t dream of turning the stove on. You must be prepared for the evening when you get home late and you cannot imagine preparing dinner.  Additionally you have to be prepared to make a few time sacrifices here and there to just plan ahead.

Recently, I heard a quote from someone I follow on social media. He said, “If you’re saying yes to something right now remember you’re saying no to something else.”  I mean, that’s really simple advice.  But, think about it for a minute.  Every time you say yes to someone, you might be saying no to yourself. Think about those things in your life that you see as non-negotiable.  Is healthy eating one of them?  If it is, then it’s time to say yes to even just an hour over the weekend to make the entire week run smoother.

Mornings are specifically a place where some planning can make the entire day better.  The mornings I enjoy a healthy a breakfast, workout, and start the day with as little chaos as possible, are the days when I feel like I have it together.  I get more accomplished and I  go to bed with so much more mental clarity.

Easy instant fruity oatmeal cups might just change your life.  You never can tell.  If they do, please leave a comment below.  I love hearing from you!

Easy Instant Fruity Oatmeal Cups

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 1 minute
Total Time 6 minutes
Servings 1

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Instant Oats
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup peaches
  • 1/4 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a small resealable bag put in the oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  2. In each cup or a mason jar, place the cut up fruit of your choice. In this case- it's blueberries and peaches. You can use what is in season or whatever you like.
  3. When you're ready to enjoy your oatmeal, add 1 cup of hot water and put the lid on for one minute until the oats absorb the water and soften.

Recipe Notes

You could use regular rolled oats for this recipe, but be aware that they would have to sit in the water longer.  The one minute kind were used for this recipe.
